...no doubt that Pākehā New Zealanders peering into the twenty-first century have, like white Australians, a history that now requires them to re-imagine their community, to rethink their nation’s responsibility to its indigenous people – as Māori are indeed fast rethinking their responsibility to Pākehā. The key to re-imagining will be the landscape.
